Keeping immigration aside, if you think getting married will save you any headaches, you are setting yourself up for some big surprises buddy :D
Jokes apart, indeed the fastest route to a GC is by applying as spouse of a US Citizen. If that is an option for you, GO FOR IT!

I think the reasons may be a little more subtle than mean spiritedness and malice. Makes me wonder how performance is evaluated at the USCIS. If their evaluation system is such that a large number of applicants in backlog looks tacky on their report card, then that's incentive enough for them to not want a deluge of applicants.

I'm thinking about pursuing maser degree of Biostatistics.
I heard the job market demand is high and
most jobs require master degree at least.
As a research assistance, biostatistician, research analyst..

hey! why it is like that?? last month, feb 15 08, the processing date was July 31, 2007 and how come now updated mar. 15 and the processing date became june 08, 2007??? WHY?? my friend got her gc already, hers date was july 19...she got her gc!!so wats up with that!!Do you think they will send mine (july 22)?im so upset!pls reply soon!

Folks,
I am due for an EAD renewal. However, my I-485 Receipt Notice got lost in mail. :(
Can I still e-file. A lot of you said, we have to send a copy of the receipt notice as a supporting document. Can I do without it.
Any pointers would be really appreciated.

That is the first thing I did and the cust rep said it is 1 bag, moreover, she said talk to your travel agent.
Also, it is different to hear from cust rep and then get the actual experience in front of the check-in staff. Hence I was asking recent experiences here.
Please don't get me wrong, but traveling with 2 toddlers, the last thing I want is baggage hassle.

Yeah....in 2011 again it will be viewed too late for CIR, because in 2012 they have to face presidential election and incumbent president would be preparing for 2nd term. Answer: (ALthough I am not part of the core team)...When the Judiciary committee is done with calling people for testimony in the 'Purgegate'. That means, upto the 3rd week of April. Even if it gets introduced to the floor of the Senate, the committee is going to be preoccupied with this scandal. Maybe if AG resigns, and all the fired prosecutors are reinstated next week, then by the end of the month you can start hearing the discussions. I gathered some words in the wind that high tech companies that wrote letters on quota for H1B is preparing to introduce a measure (when need arises) anticipating 1) H1B quota will run out in 21 days 2) CIR would not happen this year. BUT I AM NOT sure how much substantiated this is.

Thanks for the clarification though. Does Vbulletin have 2 seperate tables one for threads and one for messages. That is the structure that another forums software that we used had. If you have a messages and threads table seperately then maybe you can sort it simply by messageID (the primary key in the messages table). Since that column is a PK, it is already indexed and hence automatically faster

We are in Kansas....I did show the 485 receipt ....they said 'its just a receipt' not an approval....and so they can't use that. I'll try calling USCIS for the letter. I hope it works since I don't want to waste money on an EAD which I am not gonna use.

Considering,
- EB3-EB2 upgrade
- Slow VB date movement
- No FB spillover
- Growing economy (which will further reduce the spillover/across numbers further in coming years)
Have you ever wondered what are the options you have?
We know, we are stuck with H1. Some of our problems are
- Resumes are rejected as many(most) companies prefer Citizens/GC/EAD than H1.
- Many RFEs and question with H1 Extn.
- Getting visa stamp at consulates is a (mental) pain.
- Consider the time spent from vacation for getting visastamps.
- Problems at port of entry( So many questions). We don't know what is new in store when we comeback from vacation.
- Pain of planning for a short visit(week) for emergency issues/family functions.
- Hard time in finding a H1 sponsor for H4 dependants
We know for sure that we are not going to get GC now. We don't know the exact wait time. What is our interim relief? Have you ever wondered how an EAD and AP will help you in the current situation? Have you ever dreamt the return of summer of 2007?

First you should fill up all the forms. (156/157) for you and your spouse, then it will let you go ahead and ask to select a date and then it will ask you to put some email address, where a link will be sent to download forms and sign them. You can click on back button and fill in more than one email id to make sure that you receive the link in one of 'em. 157 is required for certain age upto 55 years.

here's my thoughts on this; If her h1 gets stamped she doesn't need AP. however if H1 gets rejected for some reason, in that case she can stay back in India until I recieve the AP documents. I send it to her then she can travel back on AP. ??
Any Suggestions or gyan on this !!!

I dont think you will be able to do this, I am not sure but I think one should be present in US at the time of AP approval only then they can use that Advance parole to leave and re enter.
May be converting back to H4 and attend for visa as dependent is an option. Ask your lawyer.
